Terms and Conditions

1. General

These Terms & Conditions apply to all driving lessons and instructor training provided by MY School of Learners. By booking lessons or training, you agree to the terms outlined below.

2. Eligibility

Learner drivers must:

  • Hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence.
  • Be legally entitled to drive in the UK.
  • Inform us of any medical conditions or licence changes that may affect driving.

Instructor trainees must meet DVSA eligibility requirements.

3. Lesson Bookings

Lessons are booked by agreement between the instructor and pupil. While we aim to accommodate preferred days and times, lesson availability cannot be guaranteed. We reserve the right to reallocate lesson slots where necessary due to operational requirements.

4. Cancellations & Missed Lessons

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or rearrange a lesson.
  • Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are chargeable.
  • In the rare event an instructor needs to cancel, an alternative lesson will be arranged as soon as possible.

5. Payments

  • Lesson fees must be paid in advance or at the time agreed with your instructor.
  • Block bookings must be paid in full before lessons commence.
  • Refunds for unused lessons will be issued at the discretion of MY School of Learners and may be subject to deduction for lessons already taken at the standard hourly rate.

6. Driving Tests

  • It is the pupil’s responsibility to ensure they are test-ready and have passed their theory test before booking a practical test.
  • MY School of Learners reserves the right to withhold use of the instructor’s vehicle for a test if the pupil is not deemed test-ready.
  • The pupil is responsible for booking and paying for their driving test unless otherwise agreed.

7. Conduct & Safety

  • Pupils must follow the instructor’s guidance at all times during lessons.
  • Lessons may be terminated if a pupil behaves in a manner that compromises safety.
  • Instructors reserve the right to refuse lessons if a pupil appears under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

8. Instructor Training

  • Instructor training is subject to DVSA requirements and successful completion of the three-part qualification process.
  • Be at least 21 years old, have held a full UK driving licence for 3+ years, and pass a Disclosure Scotland background check.
  • MY School of Learners cannot guarantee exam pass rates or future earnings.
  • Trainees are responsible for booking and paying for their DVSA tests.

9. Limitation of Liability

While every effort is made to ensure safety and professional instruction, MY School of Learners cannot be held responsible for:

  • Driving test outcomes.
  • Delays or cancellations caused by DVSA or external factors.
  • Loss or damage to personal property during lessons.

10. Data Protection

We collect and store personal information only for the purpose of providing driving lessons or instructor training. Information is handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation and is not shared with third parties without consent unless required by law.

11. Changes to Terms

MY School of Learners reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
